Thanks for checking in with us today, I’m Marty with Warehouse and Operations as a Career! How’s the 4th quarter treating you?  I know it’s only just kicking off but I’m excited for it!  I try and take advantage of every opportunity for a fresh start, I usually need a fresh start!   So last week we spoke about Staffing, and I want to thank you for all the comments and questions, and we’ve really enjoyed hearing about how you’re doing with those 2018 goals.  It sounds like everyone’s doing a great job with’em & all the motivation and enthusiasm, well, it’s just really blowing me away!  We’re going to have some great leaders within the industry in the next few years!  Keep it up guys, I think your all rocking it out there!

I made a hard right turn somewhere there didn’t I, anyway, So last week we spoke about Staffing and I thought it’d be good to understand a little about recruiting, maybe what a recruiter, hiring agent or HR generalist really is.  I’ve done a little recruiting before, to be honest with you I can’t handle it, I mean after about a month in that chair I’m stark raving mad, honestly ready for a strait jacket.  Your typical recruiter or generalist needs to be organized, nonjudgmental, pretty level headed and patient, you have to possess a barrel full of patience.  All the paperwork alone drives me crazy. It’s a job position that I admire, recruiters put their all into helping us find employment.  And every recruiter I know is really good at their jobs.  And what a rewarding position, helping us take care of our families and placing us somewhere we can be successful.  I have no problem tipping my hat to all the hiring agents, generalist and recruiters out there!  So let’s learn a little about Recruiting, Sharon caught last weeks episode and reached out to me wanting to share with us, this is a subject she can bring a lot to the table for us!

So Sharon, you’ve been on the show a couple of times now, Thanks for calling in again today, it’s always nice having our knowledge experts return to share their expertise! Could you share a bit about yourself and what it is that you do for some of our new listeners?

So Sharon, you place ad’s on social media pretty much Daily, I see them on like 5 of the boards I’m a member with.  What are you trying to achieve when you structure an ad?  What’s important, the information, the call to action for our Likes or responses?

Filling positions is stressful, I’ve been there, Sharon what would you like to see from us, what can we do to help you help us?

So, we mentioned the stress of being a recruiter, I’m sure you hear from your boss and from your customer about needing to get that position filled.  Tell us about being a recruiter, what are some of the hurdles you have to jump over getting positions filled?

Could you share your thoughts on Social Media, Facebook, Twitter, snap chat etc and our Social Media Profiles?  How important are they?

I think, as an applicant that our Phone Interview is our time to shine.  What can we do for you on that phone interview Sharon?

And now the biggie, That holy grail of the interview process, the Face to Face.  If we ace this, we’re very possibly going to be offered the job & start filling out the paperwork.  What do we need to do to insure you chose us for the position Sharon.

Sharon, as always you’ve helped us out today and given us plenty to think about and we thank you for the visit ma’am!

And I’d like to thank each of you for listening in again this week!  If you have any questions with or need any help on any of today’s topics please send us an email to host@warehouseandoperationsasacareer.com and I’m sure one of our guest can get us an answer if I can’t dig one up for ya!

And for today’s safety thought, let’s all remember that Safety is Priority 1, professionally and Personally!
